About Mother to Mother
The key elements of MtMM are the teams and their relationships, the gathering-together-as-a-group times, the coordinator, and the board. The teams are comprised of a Partner Mother and at least one Support team member. The once a month meetings are called Reflection Meetings and currently meet on the third Tuesday of each month, from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm at the First Christian Church at 705 E. Centennial.
Free child care is provided for these meetings. The meetings are designed for fellowship and sharing with refreshments provided. We have an outside speaker who presents talks on topics of interest to parents (parenting, relationships, health care, etc.). We strongly encourage our teams to come to the Reflections meetings.
Lori Woods, the coordinator is currently available 25 flexible hours per week and has office space on the 2nd floor on the Family Resource Center. She is normally in from 10:00AM to 2:00PM; however, this does vary with outside meetings and activities. She is the resource person for all the teams and the liaison between the teams and the board. She maintains contacts with teams, including a once a month newsletter; keeps all records; attends community information meetings and does presentations for the ministry, all for the benefit of the ministry.
The board consists of at least 12 community members who keep the ministry financially secure, help organize big group gatherings, and make policy for the ministry.
